Our bus arrived on time to the terminal. Wifi was not that great at the main bus station but good enough to let me contact my host via Skype to get the apartment key. My bad as I only checked the conditions of the booking once at the bus station. So lesson learned, always plan your checkin ahead of time.
We took tram 1, a circular line, to get to the old town. The tram ticket is sold at nearby kiosks or bought from the tram driver for KM1.60. And do always validate, we had the opportunity to see Transportation control agents on their duty to catch people with non-validated tickets.
The old city was fun to stroll around by day and by night. The surrounding forteresses from where we flew our drone were quite awesome to catch a priceless view.
One thing to keep in mind once in Sarajevo is the water restriction situation.
The city cuts off running water from 23:00 till 6am. So if you want a warm shower, you need to plan it accordingly.
3 days later, we are saying goodbye to Bosnia. We decided to take the 7 hour bus ride to Belgrade, Serbia. We used www.centrotrans.com to get the 6am bus (€21) arriving at 13:00. To be on time, we had to catch the first tram of the day that start at 5:10am.
