Balkans time finally.
August in Montenegro is HOT HOT HOOOOT.
The airport is tiny so immigration and baggage claim goes like a breeze.
The best way to move to city center is to book a taxi in advance. This way it only costs €10 compared to the “official” taxis that are awaiting for their next prey at the airport door charging a whopping €25.
We spent two nights in the capital city, reserving a full day for touring. Now, is the capital city worth a visit? Honestly? No. But maybe it’s because we went during the scorching heat of August?
The clock tower was being renovated, Ribnica bridge was not being taken care of. The Cathedral of the Resurrection of the Christ on the other hand was quite impressive.
Food in Podgorica, however, was delicious AND cheap. We loved our first dinner at Pod Volat where we had some amazing Kebab to die for.
Podgorica was our transit before going to Kotor. We decided to take the bus which is only a two hour ride.
The bus is not the most comfortable one. But then again, it’s just a two hour ride.
Tips:
1. Buy your tickets a day in advance directly at the Main bus station. They only take cash. The ride was €7/p.
2. Empty your bladder before the ride as there are no pee stops in between.
3. Go to the station early. Your ticket might have assigned seats but there are no seat numbers on the bus. You snooze, you end up standing up during the whole ride.
4. The view is quite amazing so you won’t get bored. That’s a plus!
