What to do when you have a week to kill in Thailand while waiting for your second dose of rabies shot? You go take your PADI license. However, since my padi medical form had too many yeses, I had to give it up and find other fun things to do while my partner in crime decided on cheating death by himself. Yaay?!
*Muay Thai*
I gathered all the guts I had left and went for a Muay Thai training course. Hardcore yet super fun! I’d go everyday if it wasn’t too far.
* BIG BUDDHA HIKE*
This was a challengeI immideatly regretted the moment I started it.
It all seemed fun in the beginning until I hit a turn and a “guard” stopped me saying I needed to take another route because a hotel just popped out on the way.
Here was his “directions”:
Whatever ” circle ” meant, it made my hike a whole hour longer than what was planned. This was the route I ended up taking:
Three hours and thirty minutes later:
But I did treat myself to this after yet another 3.5 hours walk back home.
I heard somewhere that the best way to become a foodie was to learn how things are made. I’m a lousy cook and deteste standing in a kitchen. I did however try to not overthink it much and gave it a shot.
Sally, her hubby and their team made everything look flawless. Everything was impeccably organized from the teaching, to prepping along with the actual cooking.
A highly recommended activity to try alone or not. Plus the food came out amazingly authentic and delicious.
I came out very proud of myself!
* YOGA*
When it’s too hot and you don’t feel like tanning is extreme enough, you go try hot yoga, at least in my book.
A hellishly difficult 90min activity that surprisingly went by fast.
I love every excruciating minute of it and tried it three times in a row.
The teachers were very professional and extremely kind (so kind, they let me join a class when I forgot my wallet).
I feel grateful for all toxins they helped me get rid of. I would redo it all over again in a heartbeat!
* MASSAGES*
Feet, oil or Thai? They got you covered. Some of them better than the other. It ends up being a game of luck.
Most of the massage parlors have free wifi, so that’s a plus.
* Tanning *
